Great Value Extreme (with an accent above one of the e's) Scorchin' Hot All Dressed Extreme Flavoured potato chips are 'free from artificial flavours and colours'. When I cracked open the bag they smelled like standard all dressed. Crunch was mid range with mid size ridges (wavy lays style), really mid, amiright? They weren't soft, but pretty far from kettle cooked (which makes sense as they made no claim to be kettle cooked). Now the flavour, oooweee, spicy. Good vinegar kick with some ketchup and bbq sauce who brought a bit of sweetness with them to the party. Did I mention these are spicy, the heat is aggressive, mid high...like a 7ish..maybe 7.5? out of 10..I had decent forehead sweats after a handful. Without the sweetness to offset the spicy the heat might have been a bit too much but there's a nice mix of flavour that works so well together. These bang, they're a heavy flavourful heat. Sort of a spicier Louisiana.
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are a great band. From getting Let's Face It based on the strength of The Impression That I Get when I was in junior high (and realizing that it was undeniably a full album, not just a single and some filler) to this day, I have listened to The Bosstones regularly for the past 22(?) years. There's a few albums in the mix that I'm aware of but don't recall listening to, however whenever I do take the time to listen to one of their new albums or an album that's more or less new to me, I'm always stoked on it. Going on 38 years, with only a brief hiatus for like 3 years in the mid 2000s they have managed to stay more than relevant, they're still putting out some of the best ska out there. I want to say that their longevity is in a big part due to their progressive lyrics with a foot firmly rooted in 2 tone. Sonically, the core of ska-core isn't as prominent as it was in their earlier releases, but there's still a bit of the punk aggressiveness..and they always have that ska bounce. In case you're in the camp that thought they were a one hit wonder, they're still putting out great albums, most recently this year (2021) with When God Was Great (which actually came out on Hellcat with Tim Armstrong co-producing). Go listen and..
Stay hydrated,
Marc
